President opens NIBM, Kandy

President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Saturday opened a new branch of the
National Institute of Business Management(NIBM)- Sri Lanka’s leading
institute in management and IT education, in Kandy.

The state-of-the-art facility will also function as the NIBM
headquarters in the central region. It is located at Asgiriya road,
Kandy. The fully air-conditioned facility commands a panoramic view of
Kandy including the Dalada Maligawa and is equipped with modern computer
labs, class rooms, an auditorium, resourceful libraries, canteens and
other facilities. The central location of the building which is walking
distance to the bus terminus, enables students from Kandy District and
beyond to access the Centre via public transport easily.
The Centre with its modern facilities provides international standard
higher education services. It has a highly qualified panel of lecturers
to guide students through courses of study in IT and Management.
The facility offers services both to school leavers as well as
employed. President Rajapaksa after opening the new branch inspected its
facilities in the company of Youth Affairs and Skills Development
Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.
Minister Alahapperuma explained the President the latest branch of
the NIBM and services it offers to students.
The President later also met with the staff of the NIBM. The NIBM,
which has over four decades of experience in the educational field, was
recognised as the leading government service educational institute in
2010.
