The Construction City, located in Peliyagoda, in close proximity to
the heart of on the Colombo Negombo highway will be a pivotal access
point for those living in Colombo and the outskirts due to the easy
access to the mega complex. Peliyagoda, a city in the outskirts of
Colombo is located in close proximity to the Colombo harbor and will
most certainly save many consumers the time and effort to dwell into
Colombo with the impending congestions.
C- City a concept which is set to become a reality which is a novel
concept of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and directed under the leadership
of Minister Wimal Weerawansa, Ministry of Construction, Engineering
services, Housing and Common Amanities. Designed by the State
Engineering Corporation, the one stop shop is set to give the Sri Lankan
public a unique and distinct experience.
The fact that all products and services related to the industry are
spread across a wide area within the island has made it hard for any
consumer who wishes to purchase a comprehensive array of items needed
for their respective constructions.
Therefore, C- City is set to fill in the void by bringing all
building material suppliers and services of the industry under one roof
giving the consumer the opportunity to take care of all their needs and
requirements within one specific location.
If it's a home that you want to build, or a high rise complex C-City
will be the one stop shop which would cater to each and every single
need related to it.
If its painting, tiling, building material cement or sand that the
consumer needs the city will contain all of them and much more giving
the consumer the chance to compare, contrast and purchase all under one
single roof for the very first time in the country's industrious
history.
The Chairman of the State Engineering Corporation Jagath Perera said
that this initiative will be a ground breaking experience for the Lankan
consumer.
"The entire process from the start of the process to the end of the
construction will be featured at this one stop shop. C- City will
contain every facet of the building process which includes architects
for planning, to every necessary material and service needed for the
final phases of building. The State Engineering Corporation which is
well known for its engineering excellence since 1962 with the innovation
of pre cast technology and so many engineering marvels to the country,
SEC takes the responsibility of the project with 100% state
responsibility and patronage" he said.
The complex which will consist of over 250 stalls, a modern food
court, kids play area and much more will be spread across 16 acres will
give Sri Lanka a world class shopping complex designed specifically for
the construction industry. The mega complex will also contain a car
park, modern warehouse facilities and state of the art facilities in
order to provide the Lankan public an experience beyond belief.
The location of the complex is right beside the Airport highway and
will provide easy access to both consumers from Colombo and the
outstations to visit and purchase all components and facets related to
their constructions.
The different stalls will contain competing business firms thereby
giving the consumer a unique advantage to compare and contrast, price
quality and service under one single roof before making a decision to
purchase. The entire concept which is the first by any Sri Lankan
standard will become a reality In the near future ushering in the dawn
of a new era in the history the industrial era of Sri Lanka.
The Complex, for which the ground breaking ceremony took place on
November 26, is set to be completed in December 2013 after which Sri
Lanka could be proud of a world class complex keeping in line with the
mega development that is witnessed across the island.
Reservations for stall will begin on January 15, 2013 and is set to
be completed by June 2013 with over 50 stalls being tentatively booked
by stakeholders in the industry.
