MCA 'C' Division Tournament starts today

The MCA 'C' division 50 overs League Tournament 2013, played for the Mercantile BMW - Hyundai Cup will be held from January 12 to February 9 at several venues in Colombo.

This year, eight teams have lined up in two groups where they compete in round robin system in the first round.

The knock out round will start with quarterfinals on January 27 followed by the semi finals which will be held on February 2. The final will be held on February 9 at the P Sara Oval.

Standard Chartered Bank, Softlogic Holdings, Stafford Motors and Mobitel have been grouped A while HSBC-A , Commercial Bank, Arpico SC and Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka are in group A.

There are four firms appearing for the first time in the tournament.

Last year Merchant Credit of Sri Lanka lifted the inaugural Mercantile BMW Hyundai Cup when they defeated Dimo by two wickets at De Soysa Park, Moratuwa.

There are four special awards on offer- best batsman, bowler, man of the tournament and man of the final.
