Udaya wins triple crown

Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka conducted another successful Junior National TT Championship paving a platform for junior paddlers to showcase their talents. The tournament concluded at the Jagath Rajapaksha Indoor Stadium, Peradeniya recently.

Country's apex tournament of the junior TT fraternity saw remarkable participation from all parts of the country including North and East. The championship was co-Sponsored by Serendib Medicals and New Sriyani Dress Point.

Kandy paddlers bagged major honours including special awards for Most Outstanding Player (MOP) and Up and coming Player. Udaya Ranasinghe of Vidyartha College, Kandy who was adjudged the MOP won a triple crown.

He won the U-15 and U-18 singles titles and partnered the U-18 doubles crown with his schoolmate Krishan Wickramarathne.

Ridmi Karandanaarachchi of Mahamaya College, Kandy who won the U-15 girls championship and partnered the U-18 mixed double runner-up title with Udaya Ranasinghe was picked as the Up and Coming Player of the tournament.
