Coconut cultivation drive in Matale

The Coconut Development Ministry launched a coconut cultivation programme in the Matale district under the Divi Neguma concept.

Accordingly, 155,000 coconut saplings were distributed among cultivators last year.

Equipment were also distributed among cultivators.

Sale of expired drugs: two fined

Two persons, including a woman, found guilty of selling expired drugs, were fined Rs 10,000 each by Padeniya circuit court magistrate Rangani Gamage.

The two, residents of Pallepola, were produced before court by the Consumer Service Authority

Teledrama workshop

A workshop on policies and guidelines on teledrama production will be held today at 9am at the Media Development Centre, Government Information Department.

Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella will be the Chief Guest.

Dr Dharmasena Pathiraja, Jayantha Chandrasiri and Jackson Anthony will address the participants.
