PS murder suspects netted within 72 hours
Neighbours shot dead Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha
member Hasitha Madawala, Police said, adding they are yet to
establish the motive of PS member’s murder. Five suspects in
connection with the murder, including the main suspect have been
arrested by the police -- within 72 hours of the incident. Police

Sexual abuse case: man in robes remanded
A man in robes produced before the Kekirawa
magistrate for allegedly committing sexual abuse of four underage
boys, was remanded until Januray 11. Kekirawa Police which
prosecuted admitted the four boys to the Kekirawa Hospital for
examination and report.

Naval recruits pass out
Three hundred and seventy recruits of the 210th
Regular Intake of the Sri Lanka Navy passed out at SLNS Shiksha in
Poonewa recently. The passing out ceremony was held under the
patronage of Sri Lanka Navy Chief of Staff Rear Admiral Damayantha
Dharmasiriwardene who took the salute.
