'ASKING THE MOTHER OF THE THIEF TO BE CLAIRVOYANT ...'
The Supreme Court being asked to give a judgment on the PSC
proceedings against the Chief Justice is a case of 'Horage Ammageng Pena
Aheema', said Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody, using pithy Sinhala
idiom.
It means 'to ask the thief's mother to be clairvoyant with regard to
the thief's whereabouts.'
The Speaker and the Deputy speaker have been unequivocal in sating
that any notices issued by court on parliament with regard to PSC
proceedings are invalid, and will not be heeded.
In fact, they have said that judges making such orders and in
contempt of parliament, and can be held answerable in contempt
