The Bhikkhus who become invalid have no assistance. They have been a
disappointed lot in the past as they were left to fend for themselves in
their old age denied attention or treatment for their ailments, he

This National House for Old Bhikkhus is the brainchild of President
Mahinda Rajapaksa to treat the old and infirm Bhikkhus. Health Minister
Maithripala Sirisena recently donated a vehicle to the National House
for Old Bhikkhus.
