No more ragging at Peradeniya University - VC

Ragging will never be heard at the Peradeniya University in the future, Vice Chancellor Prof Athula Seneviratna said. He said after discussions with the student council, it was decided to put a stop to ragging freshers.

Prof Senaratna said ragging tarnished the reputation of a university. “It not only damaged the good name of a university but also caused factions among the student body,” he said. “Our discussions focused on getting the students to engage in their studies,” the Vice Chancellor said.
