President congratulates Japan’s LDP and Shinzo Abe

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday sent a congratulatory message to the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan Shinzo Abe, on his election victory.

The full text of President Rajapaksa’s message:

Your Excellency,

“I wish to extend my sincere and warm congratulations on the landslide victory of the Liberal Democratic Party under your able leadership in the Parliamentary Elections held on December 16, 2012.

“Undoubtedly, this victory is a clear indication of the confidence the people of Japan have placed in your Party and Leadership.

“The Government of Sri Lanka looks forward to closer cooperation with the new Government of the Liberal Democratic Party under your stewardship. “Please accept the assurances of my highest consideration.”
