National textile exhibition ‘Ransalu’ today
For the first time in 21 years of its long history, this series of
shows will be turned in to all industry events by integrating handlooms,
textiles, fabrics and apparels sectors. The event will be inaugurated by
Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development today at 10.00 am at
the BMICH, Colombo.

Rajapaksa as the Chief Guest will also be held at 7.00 pm at Hall D of
BMICH.
“For the first time, the National Textile and Apparel Exhibition
series “Ransalu” conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has
now been expanded to fabric, textiles and apparel products along with
the participation of tourism sector with participation of local public
and overseas reps as well. I believe that the new scope of the
exhibition highlights our expanding handloom sector thanks to the vision
of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa” said Rishad Bathiudeen, Minister of
Industry and Commerce, hailing the event on 17 December.
