TFAB Cricket Sixes a resounding success
The annual TFAB Cricket Sixes, organized by the Trade Finance
Association of Bankers (TFAB) for the forth successive year was played
at NCC grounds recently. Twenty four teams from the members of the staff
attached to the Trade Finance Divisions of the commercial banks
enthusiastically participated in this tournament.

Keen competition was witnessed right throughout the tournament with
Union Bank, Hatton National Bank- A, DFCC Bank and Hatton National Bank
–B being the spotlight entering the semi-finals through hard fought wins
in the league round matches and quarter-finals.
The much fancied Union Bank team triumphed over the HNB-A team in the
final to become the winners of the TFAB Challenge Trophy for this year.
Ayeshan Perera and Kushan Lewke both from Union bank won the awards
for best batsman and best bowler titles respectively while the man of
the tournament and woman of the tournament titles clinched by Charitha
Weerasinghe and Dilani Fernando respectively both from HNB-A
DFCC Vardana Bank CEO/Director Lakshman Silva was the chief guest and
he along with TFAB Officials, President Jayantha Newunhella, Senior Vice
President Ranjith Haputhantri, Past Presidents Kathiravelu Pillai and
Gaya Manamperi, Social Chairman Susantha Fernando and Publicity Chairman
Nihal Premasiri Gamage gave away the awards.
