Delft Navy camp attacker acquitted
The accused in the delft Navy Camp attack has been acquitted by
Jaffna High Court Judge J. Visvanathan. Selvaratnam Sasiharan (29) was
charged under Prevention of Terrorism Act.
He was arrested at Vavuniya Welfare Camp and a statement of
confession was recorded by the police. The Counsel for the accused
argued that the statement purported to have been made under duress.
The High court Judge J. Visvanathan rejected the “voluntary”
statement made by the accused and acquitted the accused.
