STF seizes venison

The Special Task Force (STF) seized a stock of venison and remains of a stag and a deer at two separate locations on Saturday and Sunday. The STF also arrested two persons who kept the venison and parts of the stag in their possession. They also seized a motorcycle used to transport the venison.

The STF seized 25 kgs of venison and a head of a deer in Kebithigollawa while taking into custody 17.5 kgs of flesh of a stag and its remains at Kuchchaveli in Thigiriyaya.

A group of officers attached to Kalepuliyankulama STF camp led by IP Sumanasiri seized the head of the deer, venison, cooked flesh and a knife. The raid was conducted on a tip – off. The suspects were not arrested.

The productions were handed over to Kebithigollewa Police for further investigations.

Another group of STF personnel attached to Pulmoddai Camp seized 17.5 kgs of flesh of a stag and a motor cycle.

Two suspects, residents of Kuchchaveli and Kattakulama, were arrested.

They were handed over to the Kuchchaveli Police for further investigation.
