Code of ethics for teachers, a welcome feature - EtU

The All Ceylon Union of English Teachers (ACUET) has congratulated Education Minister Bandula Gunawardene in fulfilling a long felt need for teachers in formulating a Code of Ethics.

We have made indefatigable representations to the Ministry of Education in stressing the urgent need of a Code of Ethics for Teachers, a media release from the Union said.

The Union drew the attention of the Education Ministry when formulating a Code of Ethics for Teachers the final findings of the New Education Act Committee recommendations be embodied in the proposed Code of Ethics for Teachers. A copy of this memorandum has been forwarded to the Higher Education Ministry Secretary.
