He bolted with the pirikara

A man who obtained five packets of milk powder from a shop on the
pretext of offering them to the sangha, rode away in his motorcycle
without making payment.
The suspect had come to a house where an alms giving was being held.
He had surveyed the neighbourhood and noticed a shop opposite the house.
While the inmates were busy making preparation for the alms giving,
he had gone to the shop and told the shopkeeper that he needed five
packets of milk powder for the pirikara as he had run short of them.
The unsuspecting shop keeper parted with the goods as the householder
used to buy goods on credit. However, when he saw the man riding away
with the milk powder packets, he realised he had been tricked. |
