‘NTC, NDT qualified performing engineers’ duties could affect
development projects’

The Engineers, professionals in Anuradhapura district emphasized that
since NTC and NDT qualified persons have been performing engineer’s
duties at centain government sector institutions including Divisional
Secretariat offices and Pradeshiya Sabhas. It would affect the smooth
implementation of various development projects.
The engineers held this position at an engineers’ get together held
at the Anuradhapura provincial Road Development head office auditorium
on December 5. It was convened to condemn the recent human excreta
attacks on the PRDA’s General Manager engineer Sinharatne Bandara and as
the initial step for forming a provincial engineers’ association.
A large number of charted and amateur engineers holding office in
government departments, boards, authorities and corporations in the
locality, participated.
“It is a pity that the North Central Provincial Road Development
Authority has been deteriorating during the last few years. It has been
observed that there have been large-scale corruptions creating
malpractices and waste of funds in the past continuesly.
