Diva Guhawa, a place where the Buddha rested for a while on his visit to the the Sri Pada has been discovered about a 100 meters away from the Sri Pada, says the incumbent monk of the Sripada Ven. Bengamuwe Dhammadinana Thera.

According to the Thera, a stone inscrption has also been found close to the Sacred Foot Print along with a carved figure of a person on granite said to be the figure of King Nissankamalla who visited the mountain to pay homage to the Sacred Foot Print of the Buddha.

The devotees who will be visiting the Sri Pada this season would have the opportunity to visit Diva Guhawa, the place, the Buddha rested, the Thera added.
