Certain international elements with vested interests in association
with their local partners are resorting to various tactics, to
destabilise the country and stall its rapid development. Their latest
target is the country's judiciary, Western Provincial Council Minister
Udaya Gammanpila said. "They earlier tried to tarnish the country's
image using bogus Human Rights violation allegations and then tried to
divide the military. Their latest tactic is to divide the judiciary," he
said.
He said whatever force these elements muster, they will not be able
to fool the people and fulfill their ulterior motives.
"They will not be able to reverse what the country has gained since
the end of conflict and its march towards development and prosperity"
Gammanpila said.
He said people were well aware of these attempts and had shown that
whatever falsehoods these people utter, they will never abandon the
leader who saved the country from terrorism and who leads it on the path
of peace, unity and prosperity.
The Provincial Council minister was speaking at the opening ceremony
of the new Minuwangoda Provincial Council office under the patronage of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Udugampola yesterday. |
