Uzbekistan defeated Sri Lanka by 6-0 in the opening match of the
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-16 Women's Championship Group B
Qualifying tournament commenced at CR and FC Grounds, Colombo yesterday.
Uzbekistan led the fist half by 2-0 and continued to score four more
goals in the second half. Khusiddinova and Normurodova scored two goals
each while Nozimova and Ermakova netted one goal each for the winners.
In the second match at the same venue, Iran overcame India by 5-2.
The tournament continues tomorrow when Uzbekistan plays against Iran at
11am and the hosts Sri Lanka will meet India at 3pm. |
