Missing doctor emerges at pilgrims' rest

The speculation surrounding the missing anesthetist attached to the
Matara General Hospital came to an end yesterday when she was found at a
pilgrims' rest in Anuradhapura.
She has confessed to the Police that she came all the way to
Anuradhapura alone to participate in a Pooja at the Ruwanweli Maha Seya
to invoke blessings on her ailing farther.
Dr. Erandi Kulasinghe had not returned to her husband's residence in
Hikkaduwa though she had left the hospital for Hikkaduwa in her car on
Friday evening.
The Police found the lady doctor in the Anuradhapura sacred city
area.
Supirintendant of Police in charge of Anuradhapura Division, Mahesh
Herath told the media that she had come to Anuradhapura on her own
accord and she was not subjected to any harassment.
The Government Medical Officers Association in a media communique‚
expressed serious concern over the missing of the doctor on Monday
morning.
It said that the doctor concerned had gone missing while she was on
her way to her husband's house from the hospital.
The doctor who is residing in Uyanwatte goes to the house of her
husband who is a Major attached to the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps
every weekend.
Police began a search for the missing lady doctor following a
complaint made by her husband on Friday, on the directive of IGP N.K.
Illangakoon.
