This was followed by an alms giving to one hundred members of the
Maha Sanga yesterday morning.
The ceremonies were attended by the Maha Sangha led by Agga Maha
Panditha Most Ven Davuldena Gnanissara Maha Nayaka Thera of the Sri
Lanka Amarapura Nikaya, Agga Maha Panditha Most Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa
Thera and Rajakiya Panditha Pallaththara Sumanajothi Thera. The Maha
Sangha in their anusasana said that it was the duty of all to join hands
to bless the President and his work irrespective of ethnic, religious
and political differences.
This is necessary because President Rajapaksa delivered the country
from terrorism that plagued the nation for 30 years causing hardship and
distress and shattered the peace and amity between all communities.
“Today everyone whether they are Sinhala or Tamils or belonging to
any other other ethnic group and people of different faiths and beliefs
can live and move freely.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa was the leader who made that possible,
they said.
The Maha Sanga assured that their blessings would be with the
President in all his efforts to create a better tomorrow for all. |
