OIC shot dead over land issue

Ratnapura Police In-service Training School OIC CI R M Indrasoma Ratnayake was shot dead at Gurupasgoda junction in Amuwala, Ratnapura yesterday morning. The OIC was shot dead around 8.30am during an argument with another over a road leading to the victim's land in Amuwala.

OIC Ratnayake was pronounced dead on admission to the Ratnapura Hospital. The Police arrested a suspect with a weapon believed to have been used in the murder.

Investigations are continuing.
