Forestry and Environment Symposium

The 17th International Forestry and Environment Symposium 2012 organized by The Department of Forestry and Environmental Science, University of Sri Jayawardenapura will be held at the Pegasus Reef Hotel, Wattala today and tomorrow.

More than 100 research papers will be presented at the symposium by local and foreign academics and researchers, University of Sri Jayawardenapura Forestry and Environment Science Prof Hiran Amarasekera said. The theme of the symposium is “Towards a green economy,” he said.

“This is the most renowned Forestry and Environment Symposium in South Asia. This is the premier event where researchers, academia, professionals, policy makers and the industry meet to network, discuss and learn about the latest developments in forestry and environment sectors,” he said.

Around 250-300 local and foreign representatives will participate, he said.
