Technical knowledge should be used to fight crime, Senior Deputy
Inspector General of Police Gamini Navaratne said.

Addressing 75 officers who completed a diploma course in ‘Scene of
Crimes Officers’, he said they should use the knowledge gained in the
course to combat crime and make Sri Lanka crime free.
Senior DIG Navaratne, who was the Chief Guest, said the modern
technology they learn should be used to help the public and arrest main
suspects involved in crimes.
“Your services are important to the Police Department. Use your best
knowledge to serve the Police Department,” Senior DIG Navaratne said.
The Senior DIG said the officers should use their technical knowledge
with others in the Police Department.
He requested the officers to solve public problems effectively.
The 75 Diploma holders received their certificates from Additional
Solicitor General Sarath Jayamanne, Colombo JMO Ananda Samarasekera, DIG
Jayantha Kulathilaka, Police Spokesman Senior SP Priyasath Jayakody,
Director Ruwan Illaypaeruma, Colombo South JMO Siva Kumara, Director
Gamini Gunasekera, Police Training College SP DLC Dharmapala, Senior SP
Sanjeewa Dharmaratne and Jayantha Wickremasuriya of the Child and
Women’s Bureau.
