Over 350 Naval recruits pass out in Poonewa

North-central Naval Area Commander Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody presents an award for best performance.

Three hundred and eighty six naval recruits belonging to the Regular Intake 209th Regular Intake of the Sri Lanka Navy passed out at SLNS Shiksha in Poonewa on November 10.

The Regular Intake 209 consisted of 361 male and 25 female sailors trained at SLNS Shiksha in Poonawa.

Recruit G S M A Gunawardene was adjudged as the Best Recruit while Woman Recruit P G L S C Richard received the award for the Best Markswoman. Woman Recruit J M D Priyadarshani won the award for the highest aggregate score in all subjects and Recruit M P M S Wickkramasinhge was ajudged the Best Sportsman while the Best Sportswoman award was given to Recruit T M G A M Lakmali.

Udara Division won the award for the Best Division. North-central Naval Area Commander Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody was the Chief Guest.
