Expressway rest area opens this month

A new rest area is under construction at Welipenna on the 44th kilometre from Kottawa on the Southern Expressway to provide travellers safe and facilities to rest before continuing their journey.

A Ports and Highways Ministry spokesman said facilities will include rest rooms, restaurants, supermarkets, service stations, clothing shops, children play area, coffee shops, parking areas, fuel stations etc for Southern Expressway travellers.
