Indices hold on to positive ground

Indices managed to hold on to positive ground helped by gains on John Keells Holdings.

Turnover remained low amidst the impending budget reading. Few banking counters lost ground on retail selling distilleries gained ground on low volumes. Odel announced a Rs. 0.25 dividend today.

ASI gained 6.99 points (0.13%) to close at 5,539.31, MPI gained 18.55 points (0.37 %) to close at 5,089.90 and the S7P SL20 index gained 7.8 points (0.26 %) to close at 3,005.75. Turnover was Rs. 161.2 millon.
