Cambrians in 54-run win

A match bag of 6 for 36 by Rashan Fernando helped Prince of Wales’ College to beat formidable St. Thomas College, Mt Lavinia by 54 runs in their inter-school under 13 division two tournament cricket match worked off at Mt Lavinia and conducted by Sri Lanka Schools’ Cricket Association.

Thomians taking the first lease were bowled out for 93 runs and Kusal Diddeniya too claimed 3 for 14. Cambrians declared at 147 for 5 with Sulaith Mendis unbeaten on 80 runs and Semal Samarawickrama bagged 3 for 16 for the homesters, when bad light stopped play Thomians were struggling at 30 for 6.
