The contribution of local inventors' will be used for the Janasevana
housing programme, said Construction Engineering Services, Housing and
Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa.
Minister Weerawansa recently met two inventors, Nishan Dhammika and
Sryakantha Dissanayke of Dambulla Technical College who invented a new
sand sieving machine and Technical Skills Instructor of Mawanella
Education Zone Jayathilake Bandara who invented roofing tiles made of
bamboo trees.
At the discussion held with the new inventors, Minister Weerawansa
said with the use of the new inventions for the Janasevana housing
programme, they will be able to sharpen their skills for the good of the
country.
They can make a major contribution to the country's development.
The minister promised to extend the fullest support of the Ministry
for the new inventors and their inventions. State Engineering
Corporation chairman Jagath Kumara Perera, ICTAD chairman Udula Bandra
Ausadahamy and NHDA General Manager Mahinda Mudalige also participated.
