British Airways to resume flights
British Airways has decided to resume flights to Sri Lanka from
Gatwick Airport in London, to Colombo International Airport in
Katunayake Sri Lanka via Male in the Maldives, after a lapse of
15-years.
British Airways will resume flights to Sri Lanka as a result of sound
safety and security aspects maintained in the local aviation industry,
rising tourism industry coupled with post war development in the
country.
The service will run three times a week beginning from March 31,2013.
British Airways suspended the Colombo-London service in 1998 due to the
security situation at the time in Sri Lanka.
