Schools Chess tourney a success

The inter-school Chess Tournament organised by Ananda Maha Vidyalaya, Kottawa Chess Club was recently held at Ananda Maha Vidyalaya, Kottawa.

The chief guest was the Olympiad Chess Gold Medalist Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya. The guest of honour was the Director of the Tourney Mrs. Sandamini Gunawardene.

From 60 schools nearly 800 competitors participated at the tourney.

Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were presented for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and cups and certificates were presented to the 4th to 10th place winners.
