Azar Central pile up 248

A good second wicket stand of 118 between Mohammed Nustan 50 (4 fours)and M.I.M.Waseem 71 (9 fours) helped Azar Central College Akurana to total 248 all out on the opening day of their inter school cricket match against S.Thomas' College Bandarawela which began at Vincent Dias Stadium Badulla yesterday.

The match will be continued today at 9.30 am.

Also batting for Azar Central College was M.I.M. Hisham who scored 50 (not out) with three huge sixers and 4 fours in an entertaining knock.Medium pace P.Malinga bowled well for the Thomians taking five for 32. At close the Thomians had replied with 53 for 2. Azar College : 245 in 70 overs (M.I.M.Waseem 71, M.N.M. Nustan 50, M.I.M.Hisham 50 n.o., M.U.Umair Khan 43, T.Illangavanam three for 99.P.Malinga five for 32 )

St.Thomas' : 53 for 2 in 16 overs (P.Malinga 34 n.o., D.Hafiz two for 22)
