Yohan Zoysa takes four for 30

Benedictine Yohan Zoysa grabbed four wickets for 30 runs to restrict Ananda College for 169 in the first innings on the first day of their inter-school First XI cricket match at the Ananda College grounds on Friday.

Earlier, right arm fast bowler Chandana Jayasanka wrecked Ananda batting capturing four for 55 runs. Anandians, after winning the toss, collapsed to 169 runs before the tea break. When the play stopped due to the bad weather, Bens were 63 for four wickets. Benedictine right handed batsman Thilina Silva scored 25 runs while right arm off spinner Thamalaka Athulathmudali took two wickets for six runs for Ananda College.

The second and final day’s play will continue at 9.45am at the Ananda College grounds, Ananda Mawatha, Colombo 10.

Ananda College:169 all out in 57 overs (Kushith Perera 36, Thamalaka Athulathmudali 33, Pasindu Isira 29, Suchira Paranathala 21, Yohan Zoysa 4 for 30, Chandana Jayasanka 4 for 55, Geethika Jayatilleke 2 for 44).

St Benedict’s College: 63/4 in 22 overs (Thilina Silva 25, Thamalaka Athulathmudali 2 for 6). (SJ)
