RI for culpable homicide

A man who pleaded guilty to a charge of committing a culpable homicide not amounting to a murder was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 by Panadura Provincial High Court Judge Kusala Sarojanee Weerawardena. The judge also ordered the accused to pay the 100,000 as compensation to the wife of the deceased.

The accused, Udugodage Dinesh Crisantha alias Sudumahatmaya of Egodauyana, Moratuwa, was indicted by the Attorney General with committing the murder of K H Siripala Perera of Moratuwa on September 1, 2000 by stabbing.
