NDB extends its reach to Minuwangoda

NDB entered the Minuwangoda town with the opening of its 68th branch
recently, offering a wide range of financial services to a rapidly
growing commercial city.

Colombo, Kurunegala and Kandy set the pace for commercial activity in
Minuwangoda. With just minutes away from the Bandaranaike International

People’s Bank Ethera Isura NRFC Grand Draw Chosen

People’s Bank has provided foreign employees with a variety of
benefits under the NRFC Grand Draw scheme. Winners for the month of
September were chosen recently at the Head Office of People’s Bank.
A total number of five winners were chosen and they were each awarded
a sum of Rs. 25,000/-. The winners were A. Stanislos of the Batticaloa
Branch, J.A.S.U. Gunawardena of the Peradeniya Branch, S. Jayanthi of
the Kalmunai Branch, S.A. Tudor of the Hanwella Branch and M.S.A.N.M. of
the Overseas Customer Unit.
To be eligible for the monthly draw, a minimum balance of USD 250 or
equivalent in foreign currency should be maintained in an Ethera Isura
NRFC Account during any month from the 1st of March to 31st of December
2012. At the monthly draw, five winners are chosen and are each awarded
a sum of Rs. 25,000/-. To be eligible for the year end Grand Draw, a
minimum balance of USD 250 or equivalent in foreign currency should be
maintained in an Ethera Isura NRFC Account during any month from the 1st
of July to 31st of December 2012.
As the 1st prize a sum of Rs. 1 million, 10 prizes each worth Rs.
100,000/- and 15 prizes each worth Rs. 50,000/0 are gifted at the draw.
A special feature of this draw is that additional chances can be
obtained in instances where the balance maintained exceeds USD 250 or
equivalent in the period specified.

October 1 was a significant day for children throughout the world
over, the day being “International Children’s Day.”
Prime Grameen launched yet another of their super schemes that would
benefit the people of Sri Lanka, targeting the future flag bearers of
our motherland, the child population. The dynamic savings scheme branded
as ‘YAALU’ would be another blockbuster introduction by Prime Grameen
Micro Finance Ltd.
“YAALU is at our village,” was the theme of the campaign that
promoted the habit of saving among children, not only in urban areas,
but also at every village throughout Sri Lanka. The promotional campaign
provided an unprecedented range of gifts and other benefits, including
scholarships.

addressing the media on the 2012 International Children’s Day, dwelled
on the merits of the “YAALU” scheme, and highlighting the rate of
interest of 10% offered to a “Children’s Savings Scheme” as unmatchable,
while taking into consideration the gifts and other benefits to be
accrued. As such, the scheme “YAALU” would grow with the children as
their true friend for many more years to come.
For every “YAALU” savings deposit of rupees one thousand or more,
made on October 1, 2012, Prime Grameen Micro Finance contributed a sum
of rupees one thousand, as a special token for the celebration of
“International Children’s Day.” The special event to introduce the
“YAALU” Children’s Savings Scheme to Sri Lankans was graced by Chairman
B. Premalal, Deputy Chairperson Sandamini Perera, CEO/Director Chaminda

As part of its overall strategy, The Finance Company PLC is now in
the process of operating a number of its key branches from more
strategic locations in order to maximize the potential of these areas.
Bringing this objective to light the 72-year-old financial firm has made
arrangements to better serve their customers in the vibrant Kurunegala
area. This follows the recent refurbishment and reopening of the Galle
and Badulla Braches, which have been in operation for the past 25 to 33
