Contest to mark Children's Day
The Indian Cultural Centre, Colombo has organised a painting, drawing
and writing competition for children on November 17 from 9.30am to 1pm
at the Indian Cultural Centre, 16/2, Gregory's Road, Colombo 7 to
commemorate Children's Day, which falls on November 14, coinciding with
the birthday of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Children interested in participating, can register with the centre (phone
011-2684698, fax 2684697 or e-mail [email protected]).
They are requested to come to the ICC at 9.30 am on November 17.
Children's entries will be sent to New Delhi for the Shankar's
International Children's Competition 2013. The Shankar's International
Children's Competition 2013, in the categories of writing, painting and
drawing, is open to children all over the world born on or after January
1, 1997.
The last date for receipt of entries in New Delhi for Shankar's

Annual dinner dance
'Silver Mist 2012' the annual dinner dance of the Burgher Association
to mark its 11th anniversary will be held on October 13 at 9pm at the
Grand Oriental Hotel, Colombo 01.
Music will be provided by Flame and Outburst DJs, guest appearance by
DJ Steffen Blaze and compered by Radley Stephen.
The crowning of the Prince and Princess and other prizes are on
offer.
Fund raiser
The Russian Speaking Guides Lecturers Welfare Society has organised
the musical show 'Swarna Miyesi Viramaya' to raise funds.
The musical show will be held at the Kularatne Hall of Ananda
College, Colombo, tomorrow at 6.30pm.

Headquarters seek public assistance to help trace K. Dona Subodha
Wimarshani (14) of No. 447, Makola North, Makola who is reported missing
from home since June 6, 2012. According to a complaint made by her
mother Sriyani Thusharika, she is 4 feet tall and with hair grown upto
her waist. She was last seen in a red jacket and blue skirt. Any
information regarding this girl may be forwarded to the Sapugaskanda
