NCC Director welcomes school principals as Brave Colonels
The appointment of school principals who have rendered valuable
support towards the Cadet Movement as Brave Colonels on a concept of
Defence and Urban Development Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is
a matter of pride and honour.
It doesn't mean that schools are subjected to militarization in any
way, said National Cadet Corps Director Maj. Gen. Gamini Jayasundara.
He was a addressing a batch of 23 Grade One Principals who attended a
training programme at the National Cadet Corps Headquarters at Rantembe
on their appointment as Brave Colonels recently.
Maj. Gen. Gamini Jayasundera said "the dedication and sacrifice you
made in your capacity as principals to create discipline in schools and
provide useful citizens to the country through the means of the National
Cadet Corps has come into focus and appraisal. Your appointment as brave
colonels will offer you more strength and vigour to create a disciplined
future generations.
We have been provided with necessary instructions and advice in this
regard by Defence and Urban Development Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya
Rajapaksa.
You who are principals attached to the SLEAS has been elevated to
this post to enable you to promote discipline and leadership skills
among students. This does not in any way mean that school administration
is brought under militarization.
This will offer you the skills to conduct training programmes with
the resource contribution of the National Cadet Corps. |
