National Reading Month:

Public Library offers free membership

The National Library and Documentation Services Board has declared the month of October as the National Reading Month. Accordingly, the National Library has decided to offer its free membership to the public during the National Reading Month.

The National Library sources said that they were to offer 10,000 one year free memberships during the National Reading Month which falls this month.

All Sri Lankans, irrespective of any limitations are eligible for membership. Therefore academics, researchers, university students, journalists and the information seekers could make use of this great opportunity of obtaining one year free memberships. This offer could be made use of only by visiting the National Library during the opening hours during this month and application forms could be obtained from the main counter of the Reader Services Division. Opening hours of the National Library: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8.30 am to 6.15 pm.

Mondays,Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8.30 am to 4.15 pm (Closed on Sundays and other public holidays)
