Van-train collision

One person was critically injured when a van collided with a train bound to Galle from Matara at an unprotected level crossing at Parakkrema Mawatha, Pamburana on Thursday.

The vehicle which collided with the train crashed into an electric post and fell in to a canal. The injured man was admitted to Matara Hospital. The driver escaped with minor injuries.

The van was proceeding along Galle road.

Matara Police are investigating.
