Thyroid patient seeks assistance

K. Leela Kanthi (43) of No 2/35A, Miriswatte, Yagodamulla, Kotugoda has been diagnosed with a carcinoma of Thyroid and has been recommended 3.7 GBq of radioactive iodine treatment by senior consultant oncologist Dr Sarath Abeyakoon.

The total cost of the treatment is estimated at Rs 115,450. She also has to spend another considerable amount for medical tests and treatment before and after the radioactive iodine treatment. Her husband does not have permanent employment and she is not in position to meet the expenses for treatment.
