Suspect wanted for nine crimes arrested

Police arrested a suspect wanted in connection with nine crimes including robbing jewellery and money on Friday.

The suspect is a resident of Panadura, Alubomulla.

Police said the suspect had been involved in a series of robberies in Panadura, Bandaragama and Piliyandala.

Police also seized robbed jewellery and hand bags from his possession.

The suspect will be produced before the Panadura magistrate.

Meanwhile, three suspects wanted for murders in Ahungalla, Uragasmanhandiya and Ambalangoda were arrested by the Terrorist Investigation Unit.

A T-56 weapon, ammunition and a motorcycle were seized from the suspects' possession.

The suspects are residents of Ahungalla and Navandagala.

Ahungalla Police are investigating.
