Ramani Kangaraarachchi
The business world is becoming more challenging ,organizations are
becoming more complex and demand much more from professionals in
comparison to a few years back. Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka
President Sujeewa Rajapakse said .
Speaking at the convocation 2012 of CA Sri Lanka at Waters Edge
Battaramulla on Thursday he said, keeping up with the continuing changes
at a global and local level is challenging, yet to succeed one has to be
well informed and upto date constantly. Rajapakse said although new
members graduate following the completion of their course, their learning
process will not end despite the graduation.
Learning and education will always be a continuing process to keep
them updated and help them to stay relevant at a professional level.
“Being a professional has its rewards and challenges, and being
professional is a responsibility. It is your responsibility to discharge
your responsibilities well while maintaining your respect and integrity
and above always ensure you discharge them ethically,” he said. Guest of
honour at the event Group Chief executive Officer Overseas
Reality(Ceylon) Pravir Samarasinghe said, Chartered Accountants are
undoubtedly among the most sought after professionals across the
business world.
Their precision and out of box thinking gives them the leverage which
most other professionals fall short of. Accountants are not only a
requirement for proper financial management ,but they also sit at the
nerve centre of any business organization adding strategic value to the
development of that organization, thus giving them that all important
edge for career enhancement and growth.
The CA Sri Lanka granted the associate membership status to 215
passed finalists of the chartered accounting course at the event.
Special prizes were awarded to a total of 12 prize winners who fared
exceptionally well at the strategic level examinations in December 2011
and June 2012 and at the top CA case study examinations in December 2011
and May 2012.
