SL Schools Rowing C'ships powered by t-sips

The Beira lake will be transformed from still to stirring for the first ever Sri Lanka Schools Rowing Championships this month when 14 leading schools take part in the true spirit of camaraderie and principled athletics for four consecutive days.

T-sips, who has been behind the Royal-Thomian Regatta and the Royal college team for three consecutive years and the international sporting rowing event, Far East Asian Rowing Assosiation Championship (FEARA), will sponsor the Sri Lanka Schools Rowing Championships.

At the inaugural championship, S Thomas', Royal, St Josephs', Ananda, Nalanda, Ladies', Visakha, Bishops', Musaeus, Prince of Wales, D.S. Senananyake, Asian International, Gateway International and British International will complete a distance of 1000 metres of the Beira Lake in Colombo.

Heats will take place all day on the September 12 and 13 while the main event is set for the 14th and 15th.

The 14 schools will participate in 4 events: single scull, double scull, coxless pair and coxed four.

The events are sectioned into girls and boys events, each in the categories of under-14, 16, 18 and 20. Overall winners from each age group will receive the t-sips Champions trophy, medals and a certificate.
