Bronze medallist Pradeep Sanjaya to receive a red carpet welcome

Pradeep Sanjaya who won a bronze medal at the Paralympic Games in London will receive a red carpet welcome when he arrives today at the Bandaranaike International Airport at 12.50 p.m.

Pradeep Sanjaya brought honour and fame to Sri Lanka by winning the bronze medal in the 400 metres (T46) event at the Paralympic Games in London last week – the first Sri Lankan to win a medal at the Paralympic Games.

He will be received at the Airport by Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, officials of the Sports Ministry and High Ranking Officers of the Sri Lanka Army. Also present will be officials from sports bodies and former Sri Lankan Athletes.

He will be allowed entry through the special invitees enclosure and conducted in a motorcade from Katunayake to Colombo and will be accorded a reception in Colombo.
