Don't use students to gain political mileage - MEP
The disciplined civil society condemned the attempts made by
Opposition parties and their affiliated trade unions to make use of
student generation inheriting the country's future to achieve petty
political gain by targeting the examinations conducted by the
Examinations Department, states the MEP in a press release issued
yesterday.
The release signed by MEP Vice President Somaweera Chandrasiri said
the National Flag and and the National Anthem are included in the Grade
5 syllabus. Those who cry themselves hoarse condemning the inclusion of
questions relating to the National Flag and Anthem are doing so to
please NGOs and display their treachery towards the nation.
'The MEP which is taking the forefront to defeat these conspiracies
would call upon parents to come forward to thwart attempts made by these
anti national elements to destroy the patriotic feelings of children.
'Generally when an examination is due to be held it is the usual
practice to discuss possible questions in the classroom as well as
tuition classes.
'Institutes publishing educational publications also publish possible
questions for the benefit of students when the examination draws near.
'As such, questions in the official question paper may be found in
these possible having questions. This is not an unusual thing but a
normal happening. |
