Vietnamese food promotion begins this September
The flagship restaurant of Hilton Colombo Residence, Union Bar &
Grill will launch a Vietnamese Food Promotion under the selected theme
of Discover Saigon's Treasures between September 3 and 9.

This will be the Hotel's fourth consecutive year of hosting a
Vietnamese food promotion. With the assistance of culinary wizards Chef
Vu Nhan Hien and Chef Nguyen Truong Luat from the Equatorial Hotel, Hoh
Chi Minh City, this year, guests would be treated to an authentic
Vietnamese feast.
Demi-Chef Vu Nhan Hien's culinary prowess is commendable - he has won
medals in hot cooking for seafood and meat and an impressive gold medal
at the MLA Black Box Culinary Challenge.
Chef Nguyen Truong Luat who is also a Demi-Chef, has won many awards
to exhibit his many talents.
The menu compiled for this promotion has been carefully conjured by
the two Chefs keeping the Sri Lankan palette in mind.
This year, the tempting appetizers range from pineapple salad, mini
rice flour cake and fresh spring roll with stir fried beef to glass
noodle with seafood salad.
Guests will also be treated to sour fish soup and crab meat soup
during the promotion. The action stations would feature deep fried sweet
potato with taro and prawn fritter, Vietnamese pancake and tempting
desserts such as deep fried banana cake and chilled longan with lotus
seed, baked cassava cake.
Commenting on the food promotion, Executive Chef Priyal Wijesuriya
said, "The Vietnamese food promotion is something very near and dear to
us and by bringing in Chefs Vu Nhan Hien and Nguyen Truong Luat we hope
to introduce Colombo to an authentic cuisine in keeping with our
objectives to offer a five-star dining experience". |
