New CA judge takes oaths before President

High Court judge Nihal Sunil Rajapaksa took his oaths as a Judge of the Court of Appeal before President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday morning.

Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and family members of the new Appeal Court Judge were also present on the occasion.

Nihal Sunil Rajapaksa who is a past pupil of Dharmaloka College, Ambalangoda and Ananda College, Colombo entered the legal profession fron the Law College batch of 1080/81 and held various positions in the judicial service before his appointment to the Bench.

Public talk

Dr Kosala de Silva will deliver a public talk in English on 'The second Jhana' at the meeting of the Servants of the Buddha Society on September 1 at 4.30 pm at the Maithree Hall, Lauries Road, Bambalapitiya.
