One of the leading TV antenna manufacturers in the country, Maspro
Lanka, will export its first consignment of special TV antennas to
Australia shortly. The value of the first consignment is US $ 20,000 and
it will be a monthly shipment Chairman, Managing Director Maspro Lanka
Shelton Fernando said.
He said this world class VHF and UHF antenna combination is
manufactured with 100 percent Sri Lankan raw material and it is a great
achievement for the company in its 25 years history and for the country.
There are inquiries from Indonesia , Philippines and Nairobi for the
new product which is a positive sign of further expansion.
Fernando said many people feel that the quality of Chinese goods are
not up to the standard and there is a trend of those countries eying
better quality products now. Therefore we need to look at these niche
markets before it is too late. Sri Lanka now has the road infrastructure
with man power in this field sufficiently but what is lacking is an
electronic zone which will bring immense opportunities to the country
with buyers' confidence. The company has also developed advanced CCTV
cameras which will help private sector companies to save manpower
largely while increasing productivity.
“If the country is to move forward latest technology has to be
utilized which will guarantee their protection.
The company has been in the local market for almost two decades and
are aiming at a 50 percent market share soon. Fernando said they also
have a high performance TV reception checking vehicle equipped with a
signal measuring machine to check TV signal strength.” |
