Sri Lankan dies of heart attack in Varanasi
A Sri Lankan national, on a visit to Varanasi with a group, died
following a massive heart attack in the Chinese temple near Sarnath,
police said.
According to police, Antonkio, a resident of Moneragala, suffered a
massive heart attack in the Chinese temple and fell on the ground. She
was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Antoniko came to Varanasi on Sunday along with a group via Chennai,
officials said.

Minister summoned before court

Mannar judge R A S Dissanayake issued summons on Industry and
Commerce Minister Rishard Bathiudeen to appear before court on August 27
in connection with an incident where a judge was allegedly threatened by
the minister while a mob stoned the Mannar court premises on July 18.
Police had to fire tear gas to disperse the mob.
Five injured as train hits car at unprotected level-crossing

Five persons were injured and admitted to the Chilaw General Hospital
when the car in which they were travelling collided with a train at an
unprotected level crossing near the Anawilunduwa railway station on the
Chilaw-Puttalam line around 7.30 am yesterday. The injured who are
residents of Gampaha had been returning home after visiting a relatives’
house for breakfast after a trip to Anuradhapura in the newly purchased
motor car when the tragedy occurred. Chailaw Police are investigating.
